SUMMER OF LOVE AND MUSIC

This is the first year the event has been held and organisers are hoping it will become an annual festival. It takes place on the 1st - 2nd August at The Mermaid in Christian Malford and a whole host of bands from Swindon are on the bill, including Buswell, Kicaberry and The Volt. The Festival runs from 2pm until 11pm on the Saturday and midday to approximately 10pm on the Sunday. Tickets cost £6 on advance and are available from Holmes Music, in Faringdon Road and Brian Taylor Music, in Wootton Bassett. Camping tickets are available for £20.

The Summer of Love hits Mermaid

The Summer of Love music festival was set up by a singer/ songwriter called J.C. Leonard. It can only be a good thing when musicians set up festivals ‘cause it means they know what they’re talking about when it comes to picking acts. As if to prove it, they’ve got The Volt topping the bill on the Saturday, and it doesn’t get much better than that round these parts. Other notable performers on the bill include Buswell, Kicaberry and Pink Floyd tribute ‘Echoes’. It’s happening on the 1st and 2nd of August at the Mermaid Inn in Christian Malford. Tickets can be bought for £6 a day, or camping weekend tickets are available for £20. It’s in aid of both Shelter and The Halo Trust, both worthy causes we reckon. So dig out your flares and check it out, man
